Castlefield Gallery is an artist-initiated gallery that plays a strategic role in the development of contemporary art. It does so by supporting the professional careers of artists and curators through research, production, presentation and interpretation. Castlefield Gallery currently has 3 main strands of work: An exhibition and events programme in the galleries; Project Space, a mentoring and professional development scheme; and PureScreen, a platform for promoting artists' film and video. In all its activities it aims to engage new audiences by working with partners - regionally, nationally and internationally.
