Lower Ground Floor, 31 Queens Road, Brighton, BN1 3XA
Independent artist-run gallery in the centre of Brighton. Grey Area states that: Unlike many art galleries we do not believe in simply taking work off of artists and not involving them with the hanging, development or dialogue integral to each display. We do not select work for its commercial potential or profitability, but instead for its suitability to the space and show concept.
As well as exhibiting contemporary art work, the gallery aims to provide space for curatorial experimentation and development, and to initiate and sustain a monthly spoken word event featuring debate and performance. Grey Area also has a small bookshop for independent publications and is actively seeking artists submissions for their exhibition programme.
